About Squeeze Casting
In the squeeze casting process, a precise volume of molten aluminum or magnesium is poured into a heated, closed mold to produce an internal cavity in the shape of the casting. Molten metal is forced into the die cavity. High pressure is applied until the metal solidifies and forms the casting without turbulence and gas entrapment. The press is withdrawn and the casting is released, yielding high quality, dense, heat treatable components.
